-- Only one matchup took place between a pair of ranked teams, as #5 Stanford beat #23 Arizona State, 42-28 to cover as seven-point home favorites.

Unranked unbeatens

-- Georgia Tech (3-0) rallied to stun North Carolina at home, 28-20. The Jackets overcame a 13-0 deficit to improve to 2-0 in ACC play as the Techsters welcome in Virginia Tech on Thursday night.

-- Maryland (4-0) routed West Virginia, 37-0 to easily cash as four-point home favorites. The Terrapins have two weeks off prior to their conference opener against Florida State in Tallahassee on October 5.

-- Minnesota (4-0) scored at least 40 points for the third time this season in a 43-24 home triumph over San Jose State. The Golden Gophers begin Big 10 play this Saturday at home against Iowa.

SEC 'chalk' eaters

Florida, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia all picked up victories in Week 4, but none of the four teams covered as heavy favorites. The Gators beat Tennessee by two touchdowns, while falling short of the 16 ½-point line. The Crimson Tide cruised past Colorado State, 31-6, but couldn't cash as 40-point favorites. One of the potential upsets of the day fell short as Georgia held off North Texas, 45-21 as 33-point 'chalk.'

On the Rise

Every Sunday, Brian Edwards updates the VegasInsider.com Top 25. After watching the action this weekend, Baylor made the biggest jump from 19th to 14th. Michigan saw the biggest drop, falling from 15th to 23rd in the VI rankings. Seven schools from the SEC reside in the VI Top 25, including five inside the Top 8.
