The Weekly Waggle - Congressional

Editor’s Note: Dan Daly is the latest writer to join the VegasInsider.com stable. Be sure to check back weekly for his spontaneous and entertaining comments on the Tour and follow him on Twitter @weeklywaggle.

ESPN confirms that Chris Berman will call the Week 1 Chargers-Raiders game on Monday Night Football.

Dan Daly confirms he will watch the Week 1 Chargers-Raiders game on mute. My ears hurt just reading that announcement.

Courtesy of Darren Rovell…Pretty shocking to see a PGA Tour ad with a guy wearing a Phil Mickelson caddy bib spelled wrong. Hilarious on so many levels!

Watching Saturday's coverage with no one in the galleries was both extremely surreal and extremely pleasant. Obviously will never happen again but after watching that, I'm all for PGA tournaments with no gallery (Augusta of course the one exception).

For those of you that were with me prior to my Weekly Waggle days you know that I have said for over a year now that Tiger needs to be at least Bo Van Pelt relevant before he can be considered "back."

Well, congratulations Tiger, you are officially BVP relevant again.

So here we go again…"Is Tiger Back?"

Well, to answer that question you need to first figure out where he's been. So I broke down Tiger's career:

Amateur Tiger (1975-1997): All he did back then was break 50 at the age of 3 and appear in Golf Digest at age 5. From there he became the youngest U.S. Junior Amateur Champion in golf history…and then won again, and again. Then just for fun, he won the U.S. Amateur champion three times in a row as well.

"Hello World" Tiger (1997-1999): After winning his first PGA tournament a month into his career he went on to win The Masters the following April by a mere record setting 12 strokes. He would go on to retain the No.1 world ranking after only 42 weeks as a professional and add another major victory at the PGA. This was his, 'hit it as far as I can and just overpower everyone else' phase. It worked out really well for him actually.

NYSE Tiger (2000-2003): Simply put, this was the greatest individual run in the history of sports. The guy was so good Stevie Williams was making more money carrying his bag than 90% of the players on the PGA tour. This was his 'win the US Open by 15 shots stage.' This was his, "Tiger Slam" stage. This was his 'Bet on me, I'm the safest investment in the world' stage. This stage has never, and will never, be duplicated by him or anyone else in my lifetime…or your kids, or your grandkids, or your grandkids' grandkids lifetime.

Married Tiger (2004-2005): Tiger loses his No. 1 ranking for the first time since August 1999 (264 weeks) and gets married to Swedish model/nanny Elin Nordegren….and stays faithful to her for 264 hours (11 days). Only wins two of the eight majors.

Mourning Tiger (2006-2008): After his father Earl died in the summer of 2006, Tiger went on to win 8 tournaments in a row, 10 of 13, and including the last two majors of the year in 2006 and the PGA in 2007. Then just for grins, he went on to win the '08 U.S. Open on a broken leg and shut it down for the year.

Fire Hydrant Tiger (2009): Tiger loses his first ever 54-hole lead in a major (PGA-2009) to YE Yang. And from there it just got worse. He went on to have THREE wrecks in one night…with a group of hedges, a fire hydrant and a tree, all within two blocks of each other at 2:30in the morning and was being chased by his wife with a golf club "allegedly."

Sex Addict Rehab Tiger (2010 through 2012 Bay Hill): Just striving to be BVP Relevant.

Since then he's had three wins and no majors.

So, where is Tiger "back" to?

As I said earlier, Tiger will never be back to the 'NYSE Tiger.' Just won't happen…ever again.

So unless Earl went Tupac on us and isn't actually dead; it's pretty simple. Tiger is clearly back to banging porn stars again (minus the wife this time), will win about one major a year (I'm going 2012 PGA), will beat out BVP to win four or five regular PGA Tour events a year and will be back to No. 1 in the world by September.

The good news for us is that means around Thanksgiving of 2017 you can count on him running over another fire hydrant, releasing some great voicemails and going into sex rehab again.

I hope everyone has a happy 4th of July.

God Bless America.

Until Next Week,
Dan Daly
