The British Open is turning into a one-man show as Rory McIlroy heads into Sunday's action with a six-stroke cushion over Rickie Fowler. McIlroy shot a 4-under 68 in Saturday's third round at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, as the 25-year old is listed as a 1/10 favorite (Bet $100 to win $10) to claim his first major since the 2012 PGA Championship.
Before Thursday's first round, oddsmakers at Sportsbook.ag had McIlroy listed as a 15/1 betting choice (Bet $100 to win $1,500) to win the event. After his first round score, he was dropped to a 9/2 choice and that number has been was lowered to 4/7 price (Bet $100 to win $57) following the second round. Fowler has a long way to go to catch McIlroy, as Fowler equaled McIlroy on Saturday with a 4-under 68. However, Fowler sits at 10-under heading into Sunday, while Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson each are 9-under par.
And then, there's Tiger Woods. The 14-time major champion continues to struggle, shooting a three-over par through the first three rounds. Woods began the tournament at 16/1 odds to win at the Open, while falling down to 250/1 heading into Saturday's action.
