It seems to be a relaxing Saturday morning. After a long night catching up on Midnight Madness (that's right, college hoops practice has started), I enjoyed my Starbucks and reviewed today's plays one last time.
On a day that seems like the quiet after last weeks storm, I managed to get in 13 plays, almost double my Saturday average for the year. Even more so, I'm feeling amazingly good about the picks even after last weeks shocking upsets.
Things I'm looking for today:
How does South Florida handle the "War on I-4?" Now a top 5 team, the Bulls host UCF which has already given Texas a big headache this year.
How good is Missouri QB Chase Daniel? Daniel will be without his top running back so he'll need to take to the air often against a good Oklahoma defense on the road.
Can Kentucky rebound with the number one team in the country coming in? The Wildcats lost at South Carolina last Thursday night which has given them a few extra days to prepare for the LSU Tigers. Andre Woodsen will need to have a monster game just to give Kentucky a chance.
Will the "Zooker" keep the Illini rolling? Illinois heads to Iowa to play an "average" Hawkeye team in a game they should win to move to 6-1.
It's just another Saturday as we get into the heart of the football season. With the first BCS standing due out in less than 24 hours, let the debating begin!
In other sports news, the Colorado Rockies are doing something special. This might be the most amazing end to a season for a franchise in history. Stay tuned.
We'll know more about the future of the Yankees in the coming weeks but without them in the playoffs, I'm not enjoying the post-season like I usually do.
Is the golf season over yet? Well, at least its nice to see John Daly compete in another event; in Las Vegas.
This just in; hockey season started. Who knew?
