Most Over-rated- Nomar Garciaparra is at the top of my list, once compared to Derek Jeter this self-centered player once refused to enter an extra inning game against the Yankees because he didn't start the game. Nomar, was pouting in the dugout in Yankees Stadium in a game the Red Sox lost after three Yankees comebacks. His hitting abilities had started to slide and he had become a cancer in Boston. Even in his glory days he would constantly boot or throw away ground balls in pressure situtations. The Yankees would encourage each other to 'hit it to short' as they knew he would either booble the ball or just not make the play in the later innings. The Red Sox never won with him and it wasn't until they sent him to Chicago that they finally won the AL Pennant and World Series. The Cubs who were leading their division when the accuired Garciaparra went into the tank after his arrival. Then he packed his bags and was off to Los Angeles, who haven't been competitive since his arrival. Nomar is now playing first base with one homer and the Dodgers are going nowhere. This fits in perfectly with his game as he just isn't a winner as he never has got it done when it counted. More to follow on baseball's Most Over-rated players.
