With Spring time upon us, the sporting season is changing as well. With the final four this weekend it signals the end of major college sports wagering until football season. But with the end of college sports come the beginning of MLB and Golf becomes more interesting.
This is a great time of year to be a sports fan, huge NCAA basketball games, the start of baseball, the Masters starts Thursday and the NBA and NHL are rapidly approaching their playoff season.
Opening day in baseball is always fun, fans are brimming with optimistic feelings and gamblers see another opportunity to make some early money. In seasons past the underdogs have come out of the gate strong, please be selective in your wagering and look for those "over-rated" teams that the media has been pumping up all off season. Betting baseball is great, if your smart in limiting your chalk bets, the vig is taken out of the wagering equation.
You can go 3-3 and still make a nice chunk of change, if all 6 of your wagers were for +120 and you go 3-3 your still up +60. If you were wagering on football with a 10% VIG you would be down -30, almost a $100 swing. In a long season like baseball this really starts to add up.
I don't bet golf often but the majors, like the Masters is a great event. Tiger has been on fire and he will be a chalky favorite to win the event. many books offer nice prop bets and head to head match-ups, so shop around and try to find the best bang for your buck.
