TIGERS BACK ON TRACK

By Pat Hawkins

It’s time to take another glimpse at who is leading in our baseball money standings. Arizona and Oakland continue to hold steady at #1 in their respective leagues. The Dodgers have made a major move from almost down -800 from last week to down less than $200 for the season, can their success continue?

The Tigers continue their climb back to respectability as they are no longer the AL money burner; the banged up Yankees have claimed the AL money burning title. You have to love what the Ray’s are doing this season as they currently hold the #2 $ position in the AL, the Ray’s have been beating up on AL East foes as they climb the rankings.

Here is a breakdown of total UNITS for the season. (This is based on $100 moneyline bets per team. So if you bet any particular team every time they played this season, this is where you would stand).

Taking a quick look at some OVER/UNDER teams we begin in the NL where the Pirates, due to terrible pitching are the leading OVER team as 19 of their 28 games have gone OVER (68%). Playing the Pirates OVER on the road is profitable as the OVER is 11-4 (73%) to this point, for Pirate day games the OVER has gone 6-2 (75%).

It is almost the opposite for Atlanta as their starting pitching has been excellent, but their bats have gone quite as the Under has gone 18-9 in their first 27 games (67%). The Braves are a big UNDER play on the road as the UNDER is 4-11 (73%) in their first 15 road shows.

Moving to the A.L. the UNDER has been hitting like crazy, there are at least three UNDER teams. Baltimore, Kansas City, Tampa are playing at a 68% clip of UNDER baseball this is amazing. With Baltimore, the Under is 0-10 in their 2008 day games! With Tampa the Under is 0-8 in day games! Toronto hates to play at night as the Under is 4-13 in night games, 76% of their night games have fallen below the posted total.

For Yankee day games the Under is undefeated going 7-0!
