Boston was not an underdog of more than four and half points all season long and that occurred in road games with Ray Allen injured. In the playoffs the Celtics were six point favorites at Detroit but game 3 of the finals brings an absurd nearly double-digit spread. We are playing the total tonight since we feel there is a better opportunity with that wager but it will take a bold better on the side plays tonight.
Down 2-0 it takes a bold player to back the Celtics as it seems like a desperate situation for the Lakers and the officiating calls are likely to balance out after an embarrassingly one-sided game 2. It also takes some courage to lay nearly double-digits against a team that posted the best regular season record and has delivered wins in the first two games of this series. We are curious what the line adjustment will be for game 4 if the Lakers cruise to a convincing win in game 3.
With the 2-3-2 format the Lakers may actually be in great position still. If Los Angeles can win at home as it has done all season long the Lakers can put the pressure back on Boston heading back East for the final two games of the series. In a 2-2-1-1-1 format Boston would likely be in better position to take the critical game 5 of the series.
