Well, the sport of boxing will run out its course of lukewarm fights through December but the light continues to shine on what I will call the fight of the year. In what can only be described as an act of brilliance, Floyd Mayweather Jr. dashed any doubts that boxing fans may have had about the 30-year-old master of his art.

Mayweather doesn’t have enough power. He’s always coasting through fights, never throwing a 100% effort. He’s too cocky and that will eventually catch up to him.

I just wanted to touch on the Mosley-Cotto fight that unfolded on Nov. 10 inside Madison Square Garden. I know it’s been a while since I posted a blog, but this fight just made the hair rise on the back of my neck. It was that good.

First off, hats off to “Sugar” Shane Mosley. This guy still has what it takes to adjust to younger fighters, he throws the bomb as good as ever and he’s just a straight up competitor.

Then there’s Miguel Cotto, the undefeated 27-year-old from Puerto Rico. This guy is a machine and while his defense can be suspect at times, he takes a beating and keeps on ticking.
