--Chad Millman, the Editor-in-Chief of ESPN The Mag and ESPN.com's sports betting blooger, was kind enough to have me as his guest on his weekly podcast a few days ago. If interested, give it as listen as we talk college football for a solid 30 minutes and change. We touch on Games of the Year, scheduling scenarios, LSU-Oregon, Georgia-Boise St., Russell Wilson landing at Wisconsin and much more.
--Like I said on The Power Hours last night, wake me up when this NFL lockout is over. Until then, I could care less about optimism, breaking news, reports, etc., etc.! Again, just wake me when it's over and a deal is signed.
--Betus.com has opened Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar as a minus-150 favorite in his UFC 136 showdown vs. Gray Maynard at the Toyota Center in Houston on Oct. 8. Maynard is plus-120 on the comeback (risk $100 to win $120). These two lightweights have met twice before, fighting to a draw on New Year's Day in their last encounter for the 155-pound belt. Maynard won in their first encounter several years ago. That's the only blemish on Edgar's resume.
--Renardo Sidney has essentially held the Mississippi St. basketball program hostage for the last two-plus years. We told Rick Stansbury he should cut his losses more than seven months ago, but he's yet to do so. Now Sidney is at it again, choosing to return to Houston and work with John Lucas rather than joining his teammates on a five-game European tour in August.
