Paul Finebaum's radio silence will end on Aug. 1 when he relocates from Birmingham to Charlotte after inking a five-year contract with ESPN. Finebaum, who has hosted one of college football's most popular radio shows since 1985, will have 100 televised shows on ESPN annually, a radio program on ESPN networks and a TV simulcast of his radio show starting in August of 2014 on the ESPN-owned SEC Network.
"It would be the understatement of my life to say I wasn't thrilled," Finebaum told the Wall Street Journal. "It is incredibly exciting to be part of a new adventure, particularly one that involves the premier brand in sports along with the pre-eminent conference in sports."
Finebaum has been off the air since his contract in Birmingham expired four months ago. His rabid fan base has been in hell ever since, but we'll soon be hearing rants from frequent callers like Tammy, I-Man and Legend on a bigger platform.
