Following Miesha Tate's come-from-behind win Saturday over Holly Holm as a +250 underdog in the co-main event of UFC 196, she's destined to face Ronda Rousey for a third time sometime in October or November.
On Sunday, 5Dimes opened Rousey as a -400 favorite against Tate. By early Monday evening, the betting shop had adjusted Rousey to a -450 'chalk.' Tate is the +330 underdog (risk $100 to win $330).
Rousey beat Tate in the first meeting to take her Strikeforce belt by armbar late in the first round. The bitter rivals rematched at UFC 168 with Rousey again winning by armbar early in the third round.
This match still stands as the longest of Rousey's career. Tate and Holm are the only fighters who have taken Rousey beyond the opening stanza.
Since the second loss to Rousey, Tate has won five fights in a row. Even before Rousey lost to Holm, she had planned on taking the first six months of 2016 off.
After Tate's win Saturday night, UFC President Dana White confirmed Tate-Rousey III would probably be in October or November. However, he conceded that he could "still ask" if Rousey had any desire to return sooner (potentially at UFC 200 this summer). We shall see...
