DENVER vs. SEATTLE
This year’s Super Bowl will be fun. For only the 2nd time in the past 20 seasons do we have the league’s top two teams record wise competing in the Big Game.
This will be a classic match up as you have Peyton Manning’s record setting offense going toe to toe against the league’s best defense with the Seahawks. I love and respect both teams and as you know I called this match up weeks and months ago. The conference championship games were simply outstanding and fun to watch especially the Seahawks come from behind win vs the Niners. I like both head coaches but especially Seatlle’s Pete Carroll and their fans.
"This is really special," added Carroll, who has turned around the Seahawks in four seasons in charge. "It would really be a mistake to not remember the connection and the relationship between this football team and the 12th Man and these fans. It's unbelievable."Congrats to the Patriots and Niners for having yet again another outstanding season and were well represented. It is crazy to think this year’s Super Bowl will be played outdoors in possible adverse weather. I have gone to and thoroughly enjoyed five Super Bowls. Heading to East Rutherford New Jersey the first Sunday in February does not appeal to me.
Let’s talk betting.
The Broncos have opened as a small favorite to knock off Seattle. The early money has come in on Denver even though Peyton Manning has only won one more Super Bowl than me. I respect teams that play defense. Seattle has my respect. I also love the mobility of quarterback Russell Wilson. Manning is a stud as a classic drop back quarterback. If weather is a concern, mobility trumps Manning’s style. I can’t wait for this game. It will be a lot of fun.
I personally have found more value betting this game by spotting my picks and picking my spots based on the countless prop bet opportunities. Remember, it is not how many you bet, it is how many you win.
Often times the value is hidden in proposition wagers. The Broncos have been a dead OVER team the entire season based on totals while Seattle has been very stingy on defense.
I will give out my play next week. In the meantime as you approach the Big Game remember the words of my friend and mentor Lem Banker who simply says to “bet with your head, not over it”.
