My VI college picks continue to do very well, now standing at a solid 15-6 for the season through Saturday's results. I'm holding my own in the NFL, meanwhile, and I'm very confident of my posted play today here at Vegasinsider.com.
Tough beat on the free opinion Saturday, with the dreaded dog in overtime scenario rearing its ugly head as my Michigan side went down. But my free college plays are 4-1 even with that loss, so be sure to keep reading this blog for future selections.
Here's a free call for today's NFL action.
It's do or die today for the Tennessee Titans. Simply stated, they're virtually dead in the water if they fall to 0-4. The Titans have lost their first three games by a combined 13 points and one of the defeats was in overtime, so it's not like they've been awful. Regardless, this is a must win challenge for Tennessee.
The Jaguars are 1-2 and have played well in their two road games, just missing at Indianapolis and toppling the Texans. But Jacksonville was basically blown out in their only home game, losing in unimpressive fashion to Arizona. It appears as though the Jaguars have some internal problems, with the latest being head coach Jack Del Rio basically demanding that QB David Garrard give up his Friday radio show. The team is having serious attendance problems and there's talk about moving some home games to Orlando in the future. The Jags lost about 17,000 season ticket holders from last season and it certainly seems as though this is not exactly a stable franchise right now. I don't think it's a reach to suggest that Jacksonville's present home field advantage is minimal, and with all the distractions, it's not all that surprising they've been better on the road thus far this season.
Even though the Titans are winless, they look like the better team here and I feel Jeff Fisher owns a significant edge over Del Rio in the coaching category. There's not much value in the number, as it's moved up a couple points from the opening line, and laying points on the road with an 0-3 team is never easy. But I see Tennessee as the right side in this contest, so the Titans are the choice.
