The college football season finally kicks off tonight. The best time of year is without a doubt football, filled with games every weekend through the beginning of December. We just got done with our VegasInsider seminar where we touched on everything football related, so I thought I'd throw out some of my predictions for the upcoming campaign.
I see Southern Cal taking on West Virginia in the national championship game, with Louisiana State staying in the Bayou to play in the Sugar Bowl. Michigan is overrated with its defense, so I have Wisconsin taking on Cal in the Rose Bowl.
Hawaii will go undefeated this year, but will not make the BCS because of its weak schedule. Texas Christian will dominate the Mountain West and appear in the Fiesta Bowl. Unfortunately, my Arizona Mildcats will make sure I have no scenic locations to visit come New Year's Day, but they will end their bowl drought after finishing in the middle of the Pac-10.
Southern Cal will continue its Heisman Trophy onslaught with quarterback John David Booty. Hawaii's Colt Brennan will have better numbers, but not enough exposure to take home the hardware. I really like West Virginia's attack, but quarterback Patrick White and running back Steve Slaton will split their vote.
