Las Vegas is a freakshow, but even fight nights get a bit surreal. I’m easily entertained and love to people watch, which would probably explain why I’m a sportswriter and not out trying to find a cure for cancer.
The ‘working girls’ were out if full force for the Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather. There were so many that Sin City might as well be re-nicknamed Silicon Valley for all the enhancements inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
One particular working girl went above and beyond the usual marketing towards fight fans by handing out business cards. Her name: Bunny Love. Las Vegas can always appreciate good marketing, but don’t email me about Bunny Love’s services since I didn’t pick up a card.
The best, most-bizarre outfit of the night wasn’t Mayweather’s entrance into the ring wearing a sombrero with Mexican colors, but a fight fan with enough bling to probably pay for Ms. Love’s services.
This fan had a jewel-encrusted necklace of Santa Clause the size of a small cookie jar. Before there is any racial-profiling out there, the fan was white. Just another night in Sin City.
