The World’s Only NHL Handicapper... That Has Actually Played In The NHL!
Born in Canada, hockey has always been a part of my life. I started playing hockey at the age of 6, and have been playing, watching and living hockey ever since. In recent years, betting on hockey games has been my passion.
Like every kid that laces up the skates, I always dreamed of playing in the NHL. I started playing minor hockey in Red Deer, Alberta and was fortunate enough to play major junior for my home town Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. I steadily improved and played for Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 1999.
Later in 1999 I was invited to the Vancouver Canucks camp and landed an entry level contract. I went on to play in Vancouver’s minor league system for the next 3 years, managing to suit up for 5 games with the Canucks.
In 2002 the Canucks traded me to the Toronto Maple Leafs and I found myself in St. John’s, NF. The most fun I had playing hockey was on ‘The Rock’! I played in the Maple Leafs system for the next 5 seasons, with the St. John’s ‘Baby Leafs’ and the Toronto Marlies. I played one game with the Maple Leafs in 2004. It was a special game because the Leafs were my Dad’s favorite team when he was growing up.
In 2008 I decided to take my career over to Europe. I went on to play 5 years in the DEL with 4 of those years on the same team as my brother Greg. I have always looked up to Greg, and he has been a huge influence on my hockey career. We are currently on the same team again in Coventry, UK, playing in the EIHL.
I owe everything in my life to the game of hockey. I know my professional playing career won’t last forever, but I am excited about my next career as a professional handicapper.
