For the first time in many years we have seen the shifting of the guard in the NFL. The NFC Conference is now the better one no question.
Thanks to the NFL's liberal rules favoring the offenses we don't have truly dominant defenses. Every week their are totals as high as 50 or more, something that was rare in the past.
That means the QB position is more important than ever. And the best do reside in the NFC. Sure T.Brady and Big Ben are still in the AFC. But A.Rodgers and D.Brees are now the cream of the crop.
The question is will the Packers and Saints meet in the NFC Championship? I don't think it's a given because neither has a great defense. Anything can happen when your defense isn't anything special. The Giants/Cowboys winner can get the job done. Even the 49ers (though they need a perfect outing) have a shot. How about the young Lions?
In the AFC it appears to be wide open. Will the Patriots make it past their first game with that lousy defense? Can the Steelers make another run? How about those Ravens? The AFC is going to be a strange ride.
All in all I think we see the Saints play the Steelers in the Big Game.
