As the Lakers head to the Finals I wonder about the future of the Western Conference. L.A. looks like a young team that can contend for a few more years. You have to figure that New Orleans will be in the mix as well as Utah.
But it sure seems some teams look like they got old really fast. The Spurs are a veteran unit with T.Parker the only significant piece under 30 years of age. The Suns and Mavs look like they've seen better days. Houston can't get out of their own way. Denver is just a mess defensively.
Will Portland and Golden State squeeze into the playoff race next season?
Just like that some of the Western Conference clubs that were among the best in the NBA don't look so hot do they?
