Haven't we all (at one time or another) whether it was in jest, frustration, or just wondering out loud. Said that the NBA is fixed? The NBA is the only league where the officials have the biggest impact on the game. In MLB the umpires' strike zones vary, but they are consistent throughout the game. So batters make the necessary adjustments. Of course the allegations that the desperate T.Donaghey has asserted can't be taken as fact. But you just can't be 100% sure he's lying.
Remember the NBA is all about money and ratings. And their ratings are bad. It seems that every year when the playoffs start you hear talk of "boy the NBA and the network would love to see Team A face Team B for ratings". Sure it exists for all sports (except the NFL). But it just wouldn't surprise me if these allegations turn up true. We have a league where the home playoff teams almost always go to the free throw line many more times than the visitors. Sometimes 3 times as much. It's a joke. It has always raised questions. It's a question that seems to always have the answer, "well, that's the NBA". What does the future of the NBA hold?
