Maple Forest captures Monmouth Park feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) - Maple Forest drew off in the stretch in the $60,000 Blue Sparkler Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating My Sunshine Gal by 1 1/2 lengths.
In giving jockey Joe Bravo his fourth winner on the card, the 4-year-old filly ran six furlongs over the fast track in 1:10.84 and returned $5.20, $4 and $2.40. Trained by Todd Pletcher, it was the fifth win in 13 career starts for Maple Forest, who has earned $264,066.
My Sunshine Gal returned $5.40 and $3.20, and favorite Beat the Blues paid $2.10 to show.
Besides the feature race win, Bravo also captured the fourth race with Admiral Perry, the eighth with Dubai Time and the ninth with Escrow Kid.
