Last year's champion two-year-old filly makes her returns to the track this afternoon at Saratoga in the $100,000 Mandy's Gold at 6 ½ furlongs on the main track.
The Steve Asmussen trained My Miss Aurelia won all four of her starts last year including capping off the season with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) to wrap up the Eclipse Award for top juvenile filly.
She started off her career at the Spa last summer, breaking her maiden in her debut, and then winning the Adirondack (G3) by a neck in her stakes debut.
She then took the Frizette (G1) at Belmont Park before winning the Juvenile Fillies at Churchill Downs in November.
She developed shin problems which put her on the shelf until now, and she looks as if she has had plenty of morning preparation for her return, and she is going to be a puny price as she takes on five overmatched foes.
The two fillies that look as if they have the best shot of pulling off the upset are Delightful Quality (6-1) and Ageless (15-1).
Delightful Quality makes her first start since a good looking maiden score in her second career start, taking the field gate to wire to win by nearly seven lengths.
Ageless faded to finish fifth last out in the Serena's Song going long, but did run pretty well in a runner up finish ion the Go for Wand at Delaware Park and a third place finish in the Miss Preakness at Pimlico.
The filly is cutting back to a sprint, and her maiden victory and her win against first level allowance foes were around one turn.

Here is today's opening from Saratoga to get the day off to a good start:
SAR Race 1 Md Sp Wt (1:00 ET)
6 Kitty Panda 6-1
5 Physical Delivery 8-5
9 Effie Trinket 4-1
1 Wildcat's Element 3-1
Analysis: Kitty Panda makes her debut for the Clement barn that is 22% winners (with a +ROI) with first time starters. The filly is by Sky Mesa (13% winners with debut runners) out of a Gulch mare that has dropped three runners, all winners, top earner stakes winner Akillina ($316K). The filly is working as if she has some ability and this barn often gets overlooked in maiden races on dirt.
Physical Delivery is a $220K Ocala purchase by Majestic Warrior (9% winners with debut runners from a limited sampling) out of a Dixie Union mare that has dropped one other foal to race, 1 for 5 Half Nelson ($53K). The filly is sent out by the Chad Brown barn that is showing just a 8% win clip with first time starters overall, but here at the Spa dating back five years the barn has hit a solid 25% clip (with a +ROI) with firsters.
WIN: #6 to win at 7-2 or better.

Today's Featured Race of the Day from Saratoga:
SAR Race 5 The New York Stallion Series (3:13 ET)
3 King Kreesa 8-5
2 Sportswriter 3-1
5 Goodtime Boy 6-1
7 Western Tryst 6-1
Analysis: King Kreesa is coming off a win in the London Company at Belmont Park going nine furlongs where he faced open company. He has won in his two for fun and finds a great spot here back in versus restricted state breds. He broke his maiden at a mile and the cut back here should only help him. He will be real tough here to make it three in a row, but expect less than his 8-5 morning line.
Sportswriter made a mild late rally to finish in the runner up spot last out in the Western Larla going six furlongs on the main track. The gelding did break his maiden on turf although he was not much of a threat in his other four trips over grass, all in stakes company. The gelding does come in here off a solid effort and that was against open company and he drops into face a bit easier here.
WIN: #3 to win at 6-5 or better.
EX: 2,3 / 2,3,5,7
TRI: 2,3 / 2,3,5,7 / 2,3,5,7,8
These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.
