INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Violence beat Fury Kapcori by 1 1/4 lengths in the $750,000 CashCall Futurity for 2-year-olds on Saturday at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Javier Castellano, the undefeated Violence ran 1 1/16 miles on the synthetic Cushion Track in 1:43.50 and paid $4.40, $4.20 and $3.40 as the 6-5 favorite. It was Violence's first Grade 1 victory in his third career start.

In the $250,000 Hollywood Turf Cup, 8-5 favorite Grandeur won by three-quarters of a length.

Violence took a short lead with less than an eighth of a mile left in the CashCall on his way to winning at his third different track. He won for the first time by a neck at Saratoga on Aug. 18 and by two lengths at Aqueduct in the Nashua on Nov. 4.

``He's a colt that we've thought a lot of all along,'' trainer Todd Pletcher said. ``He's a big, leggy colt that we felt like was going to continue to improve and mature.''

Pletcher said Violence will get some time off and probably won't make his 3-year-old debut until late February or early March.

Castellano can't wait for next year with the colt, who upped his career earnings to $543,000.

``I had a lot of confidence in this colt,'' the jockey said. ``He is so calm and handles himself very professionally. I think he is a special horse and I am really looking forward to big times.''

Fury Kapcori returned $10.40 and $6.20, while Den's Legacy was another 5 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $6.40 to show.

He's Had Enough, second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, was fourth, followed by Carving, Dirty Swagg, Little Jerry, Really Mr Greely, Simon Eyes and Title Contender. Bob Baffert saddled Den's Legacy, Carving (co-owned by Olympic skier Bode Miller), Really Mr Greely and Title Contender in his unsuccessful pursuit of a seventh Futurity win.

``I was most disappointed with Title Contender,'' Baffert said. ``Really Mr Greely just can't go this far. Title Contender, we were trying to get him back, but he just used himself up. Den's Legacy is getting better, I liked his race. He's solid and tough.''

In the Turf Cup, Grandeur powered home in the final quarter of a mile under jockey Garrett Gomez to defeat 29-1 shot Interaction and eight others, becoming the first 3-year-old to win since Bien Bien on a disqualification in 1992.

Grandeur ran 1 1/2 miles in 2:27.95 and paid $5.20, $3.60 and $2.60 for trainer Paddy Gallagher. Grandeur has six wins in 12 career starts and earnings of $398,438. Gallagher said the horse is set to return to Europe, where his owner lives and go back to the barn of his former trainer Jeremy Noseda.

Interaction returned $19.80 and $11.80, while Optimizer was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $3.80 for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas.
