HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Breeders' Cup Classic winner Fort Larned, Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I'll Have Another and BC Mile winner Wise Dan are finalists for Horse of the Year at the Eclipse Awards.
I'll Have Another, Belmont Stakes winner Union Rags and Derby and Belmont runner-up Bodemeister are finalists for 3-year-old champion male honors.
The 42nd annual awards will be presented Jan. 19 at Gulfstream Park.
BC Juvenile winner Shanghai Bobby, Uncaptured and Violence are contenders for 2-year-old male. Fort Larned, Little Mike and Wise Dan are finalists for older male.
Groupie Doll, Include Me Out and two-time BC Ladies' Classic winner Royal Delta are up for older female honors.
Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Todd Pletcher and Dale Romans are vying for trainer of the year honors.
Javier Castellano, Ramon Dominguez and John Velazquez are finalists for jockey honors, while Jose Montano, Irad Ortiz Jr. and Angel Suarez are contenders for apprentice jockey.
Godolphin Racing, Midwest Thoroughbreds and Paul Reddam are finalists for owner of the year, while Adena Springs, Darley and Brereton C. Jones are vying for breeder of the year.
Beholder, Dreaming of Julia and Executivepriviledge are finalists for 2-year-old filly. Believe You Can, My Miss Aurelia and Questing are vying for 3-year-old filly honors.
Finalists for male sprinter are The Lumber Guy, Shackleford and Trinniberg, while female sprinter nods went to Contested, Groupie Doll and Mizdirection, co-owned by sports talk host Jim Rome.
Male turf horse finalists are Little Mike, Point of Entry and Wise Dan. Finalists in the female turf horse category are Marketing Mix, Tapitsfly and Zagora.
Demonstrative, Divine Fortune and Pierrot Lunaire are finalists for steeplechase horse.
The awards are voted on by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the Daily Racing Form and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters. Finalists in each category were determined by voters' top three selections using a 10-5-1 point system. Winners are decided only by first-place votes.
