At the Gate - Thursday
Rushing Fall won yesterday’s Jessamine (G3) at Keeneland, stamping a ticket to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) and completing the “Win and You’re In” series of races.

However, we still have a couple of stakes on Saturday that could produce a Breeders’ Cup starter or two.

At Keeneland we have the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) at 1 1/8 miles on grass, which could produce starters for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1).

The race drew a field of 11 including New Money Honey who won last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1). The Chad Brown trainee won the Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1) in July and is back on turf after checking in fifth in the Alabama (G1) on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 19.

She faces a solid field that includes Euro invaders Unforgettable Filly and Wuheida and Sands Point (G2) winner Uni.

At Belmont Park we have the $150,000 Futurity (G3) at six furlongs on the main track for two-year-olds. Six head to the post and the race could potentially produce a starter for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).

The lone stakes winner in the field is Barry Lee, who won the Arlington Washington Futurity at Arlington Park in his last outing.

I will have selections for both races in tomorrow’s column.

Here is the opening race from Belmont Park to get the day off to a good start:

BEL Race 1 Md $50,000 (12:55 ET)
#2 Caoimhe 4-1
#8 Rapid Route 7-2
#5 Gata's Applause 5-1
#6 Mojito Margarita 10-1

Analysis: Caoimhe debuts for the Ryerson barn that is 11% winners (with a +ROI) with first timers. The filly was purchased for just $5,000 by Dublin out of a Belong to Me mare that has dropped six foals to race, all winners. She popped a bullet work out of the gate on Oct. 7 and Carmouche is up and this gal figures to be sent form the rail.

Rapid Route is sent out by the Weaver barn that is 14% winners (with a +ROI) with firsters. The $45,000 Spa purchase is by Fast Bullet out of a Tiznow mare that has dropped one winner. Johnny V takes the call and this gal has steady works for her debut here.

WIN: #2 to win at 3-1 or better.
EX: 2,8 / 2,5,6,8
TRI: 2,8 / 2,5,6,8 / 2,5,6,7,8

Today’s Featured Race of the Day from Belmont Park:

BEL Race 8 OClm $62,500N2X (4:46 ET)
#2 Weekend Express 5-1
#9 Snap Decision 9-5
#6 Mo Town 4-1
#1 Cerise's Prince 6-1

Analysis: Weekend Express was off a beat slow last out against Alw-3 optional claimers at Philly and made a good late rally while drifting out to finish third, beaten 3/4 of a length. He has not won since winning at this condition last July at Monmouth Park but has faced mostly tougher than he catches here. He has a win over the turf and picks up Castellano.

Snap Decision stalked the early pace and came with a good late rally to finish third last out in the restricted Better Talk Now, beaten 3/4 of a length. He was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths two back in the Hall of Fame (G2). He beat Alw-1 foes over the grass here three back. He drops into a good spot here but does draw the outside and is going to be a light price.

WIN: #2 to win at 7-2 or better.
EX: 2,9 / 1,2,6,9
TRI: 2,9 / 1,2,6,9 / 1,2,4,6,9

Live Longshots:
These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.
