Horse Races Today: Wednesday’s Tampa Bay and WR Odds

Horse Racing Action at TVG!
Handle at Tampa Bay Downs and Will Rogers Downs might see a small spike in handle this afternoon as the U.S Government says 80 million Americans should have their stimulus checks in their bank accounts this morning.

Go ahead and get the bills paid and if you have a little something left over TVG is offering a risk free bet up to $300 for new players.

We have some good success at Will Rogers Downs the past few weeks.  The racetrack is in Claremore, Oklahoma which I know is true because a couple of weeks ago I had to use Google to find out where the heck it was.

It is a small-time track but today’s card offers up five races that are either allowance or handicap races with purses as high as $25,000, really not too shabby.

My Best Plays Report for Saturday includes my nine strongest plays from Oaklawn Park and Gulfstream Park.
In addition, we will head out to Tampa Bay Downs which is offering up some turf racing and large fields.

Thursday I will pick back up my full card report for Gulfstream Park, which is seeing large and competitive fields as options for horsemen around the country is severely limited with the pandemic.

My Best Plays Report for Wednesday includes my eight strongest plays from Will Rogers Downs and Tampa Bay Downs.

Horseplayers can stream all the horse racing action using the Watch TVG App. The horse betting company based in the U.S. is offering a risk free bet up to $300 for new players.

Tampa Bay Downs Odds and Picks: Featured Race of Today, April 15

TAM Race 5 Md $40,000 (2:30 ET)
#8 Federale   9-5
#9 Large   9-2
#5 Puerto Varas    8-1
#7 Burl   6-1

Analysis: Federale adds blinkers and catches a weak spot here for his second start since last July. Last out off the bench the gelding chased the early pace and weakened to finish third. He showed some ability last year with a second in his debut and the Gleaves barn thought enough of that effort to try him in the Tremont where he was fourth. He then was outrun against a solid group of maiden special weight foes at the Spa, the winner Basin now a Grade 1 winner and the runner up Three Techniques is stakes placed. He drops into a good spot here and is going to be a short price, but he is going to be tough to beat. He is out of an Indian Charlie mare that has dropped one other foal to race no winners to date.

Large was third in his debut at 28-1 against $16,000 maiden claimers and improved slightly second out with a runner up finish last out for this tag. With the hood added he should be closer to the pace here and with the low profile connections may get overlooked on the tote. He is out of a stakes placed Heckle mare, this her first foal to race.

Will Rogers Downs Odds and Picks: Featured Race of Today, April 15

WRD Race 6 Alw $20,900N1X (3:45 CT)
#5 Al Shamkhah   7-2
#6 Decorated for Gold   5-1
#3 Cypress Point   3-1
#8 Baladera   6-1

Analysis: Al Shamkhah stretched out to a route last out for the first time since landing in the U.S. with Asmussen and put in a solid effort, rallying to finish in the runner up spot against Alw-2L foes at Sam Houston. The winner Okie Queen returned to beat state bred allowance foes here in her next outing on March 30. She graduated at Meydan and was sixth in a 11-horse field in the UAE Oaks (G3) last February. She catches a softer group here and the 7-2 morning line looks fair.

Decorated for Gold is back on the main track after fading to finish ninth last out on turf at Sam Houston against $25,000 non-winners of two. Her maiden win came on turf, but she ran okay on the main track two back at Sam Houston in a third-place finish. The Diodoro barn has been sending out live runners here and is 34% winners moving runners from turf to dirt. She is out of a Medaglia d'Oro mare and may end up just as good on dirt.

Good luck today!
