COMMENTS: CHEROKEE QUEEN earned an 87 Beyer speed figure and +4 late speed ration (LSR) in her latest, as she continues to improve by leaps and bounds for trainer H Graham Motion. Today she gets tested for class. I LOST MY CHOO was impressive in winning the one-mile Elmont last time, passing five horses and gaining 3 ½ lengths in the final quarter, which was timed in 23 seconds. BORN TO BE came from the clouds to win a N1X allowance race at Delaware Park in her most recent try.

COMMENTS: SAILOR’S CAP blew away a good field over soft footing in the Grade III Colonial Turf Cup while earning a 93 Beyer and +1 LSR; narrow choice. GIO PONTI garnered a better Beyer (98) but slightly worse LSR (-1) than the top one when he captured the Grade III Hill Prince at Belmont Park in his last start on June 6. His 2.25 Dosage Index — compared to Sailor’s Cap’s 3.40 DI — indicates today’s added ground will be no problem either; strong contender. COURT VISION deserves another chance on firmer ground after getting blown away by Sailor’s Cap in his turf debut.
