Undefeated Zenyatta works out for Breeders' Cup

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -Undefeated Zenyatta completed a six-furlong workout at Hollywood Park in preparation for the Breeders' Cup next week.
The 5-year-old mare covered the distance in 1:12.40 under regular rider Mike Smith on the artificial Cushion Track surface Saturday.
Trainer John Shirreffs said Zenyatta ran well and he will sit down with owners Jerry and Ann Moss to decide whether she'll start in the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic against the boys or defend her title in the $2 million Ladies' Classic.
Zenyatta is undefeated in 13 starts and would face males for the first time in the 1 1/4-mile Classic on Nov. 7 at Santa Anita.
Across town in Arcadia, Belmont and Travers winner Summer Bird ran five furlongs in 59.40 seconds. Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird galloped two miles and was scheduled to run five furlongs Monday. Both horses are entered in the Classic.
