Connemara wins Santa Anita feature

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) -Connemara rallied to win Wednesday's $40,400 Chief's Crown Purse for 2-year-olds by a half-length at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting.
Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Connemara ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:44.75 and paid $3.40, $3 and $2.10 as the 7-10 favorite.
Mr. Saturdaynight returned $5 and $3.20, while Ranger Heartley was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.80 to show.
Connemara is 2-0 in his young career for trainer Todd Pletcher.
The victory, worth $24,000, increased Connemara's career earnings to $37,800.
