What are we going to do with ourselves with no racing in New York until after Christmas? If you are keeping score that is 12 consecutive days without racing at the Big A.
I could do some Christmas shopping, replace the burned out lights on the house, or water the Christmas tree, but I would rather make a few extra bucks this holiday season.
I will try to post a few winners each day during the holiday season, and at least during the week I am going to focus my attention on a couple of the night tracks.
For Wednesday night I found a few playable horses at Turfway Park and Delta Downs.
Turfway Park Race 4
#10 Burl’s Juniana is sitting at a generous 15/1 on the morning line. Last out the filly chased the early pace and faded to finish seventh against Alw-1 foes at Beulah. Three back when last in for a tag she was a good second behind repeat winner One That Got Away, who beat $7.5K non winners of three, then took a open $7.5K claimer in her next two starts.
Use #4,#6,#12 in exotics.
Turfway Park Race 5
#1 Mud Creek was outrun last out against $30K non winners of two but that outing came on conventional dirt, and she has done her best work on the fake stuff. The filly drops into an easier spot here tagged for $15K and has landed in the exacta in 3 of 4 trips over the main track here.
Use #5,#4,#2 in exotics.
Turfway Race 8
#3 Clockwork Angel drops out of a $25K claimer and returns to poly. The filly showed some promise by breaking her maiden over the main track here in her debut, but has not been able t run back to that effort. She did face Alw-1 foes at Keeneland in her first go against winners and her last two tries came at Churchill Downs on dirt. She finds a much easier spot here.
Use #5,#2,#6 in exotics.
Delta Downs Race 7
#1Mymamastillstandin looks like a live longshot to start off the Pick 4 sequence if we catch most of his 10/1 morning line. The gelding dueled for the early lead and could not match strides late with the winner in a runner up finish at this level back in October. The third and fifth place finishers in that race came back to win next out. The gelding broke his maiden over the main track here in his debut and fits well in this spot.
Use #4,#10,#8 in exotics
Delta Downs Race 8
#6 Came Low raced evenly last out in a fifth place finish for this tag. The runner up and sixth place finisher in the race returned to win their next starts. The gelding was claimed out of his last start by the Angelle barn that is 2 for 7 first off the claim. The gelding has been consistent, landing in the exacta in 8 of 12 starts this year and looks primed for a good effort here in his third start of his current form, cycle.
Use #4,#8,#7 in exotics
Delta Downs Race 9
#4 Secret Heiress set the early fractions and held on for second last out at this level, 5 ½ lengths clear of the rest of the field in the effort. The filly makes her third start of her current form cycle and this gal owns the edge in early pace figures and will prove tough to catch in this spot as the likely favorite.
Use #7,#5,#3 in exotics
Delta Downs Race 10
#9 Mannequin gets the call making her debut for the Young barn that is 22% winners with first time starters. The filly does not have much to go on pedigree wise and the works are not jumping off the page, but at least the barn usually fires early, and most of the rest of the barns sending out firsters here do not usually have them fully cranked.
Use #6,#5,#10 in exotics
Good luck today!
