Slew's Tiznow wins at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) -Slew's Tiznow ran down heavy favorite Aggie Engineer in the final yards to win the $56,000 allowance feature at Santa Anita on Friday.
Aggie Engineer went straight to the front of the field of five as expected, but Slew's Tiznow and rider Garrett Gomez seized the lead in the final sixteenth and won by a half-length, covering one mile in 1:36.
Slew's Tiznow paid $15.40, $5.60 and $3.80. Aggie Engineer paid $3.20 and $2.40. Cigar Man paid $3.20 to show.
It is the fourth victory in 11 starts for Slew's Tiznow, whose last win was the War Chant Stakes at Hollywood Park in November, 2008.
The 5-year-old California-bred trained by James Lloyd earned $33,600 for the win, for a career total of $290,470.
