C.J. Wilson hasn't won in almost two months, but a meeting with the Boston Red Sox may help.

It's unclear if Albert Pujols will be there to provide some assistance.

With Pujols' status uncertain due to injury, Wilson will try to avoid the longest victory drought by an Angels starter in 16 years as Los Angeles goes for a three-game sweep of the fading Red Sox on Thursday night.

Wilson (9-9, 3.62 ERA) had an excellent stretch early this summer, going 5-0 with a 1.30 ERA in a seven-start span culminating with a victory at Baltimore on June 26. He hasn't won since, going 0-5 with a 5.70 ERA in 10 outings.

The left-hander is now in danger of becoming the first Angel to go 11 starts without a victory since Jim Abbott went 13 in a row May 7-Aug. 10, 1996.

Pujols may not be around to help Wilson end his skid after he exited Wednesday's 7-3 win at Boston (59-65) due to tightness in his right calf.

The first baseman, who was scheduled to undergo an MRI, is batting .387 with four homers and 10 RBIs in his last eight games. He had two hits and scored a run Wednesday.

Pujols and the rest of the Angels hitters did their best to support Wilson on Saturday, when they staked him to an eight-run lead after four innings. However, Wilson surrendered seven runs and got pulled with two outs in the fifth of an eventual 10-8 loss to Tampa Bay.

"Obviously, C.J. lost his release point. And when you've got an eight-run lead, you can't walk people," manager Mike Scioscia said of Wilson's three walks. "He got behind in counts and ended up putting some guys on. They got some key hits and got back in the game. It's definitely disappointing."

Perhaps facing the Red Sox can get Wilson going again since he's 4-0 with a 1.08 ERA in his last five starts against them.

The Angels (64-60) have won four in a row at Boston, hitting .339 and averaging 7.0 runs. Mark Trumbo - who could play first base if Pujols cannot - has gone 5 for 14 with three homers and seven RBIs in those contests.

The Red Sox will give the ball to Franklin Morales (3-4, 3.67), who has lost his last two starts while giving up eight runs and five homers in 10 2-3 innings.

The left-hander was battered again in 5 1-3 innings of Friday's 6-4 loss at New York. He surrendered five runs and six hits with four leaving the park, matching the career high he set against the Yankees on July 7.

Morales allowed two runs in 1 1-3 innings of relief with Colorado in his only meeting with the Angels on June 27, 2010.

Boston's rotation has compiled a 5.88 ERA while dropping eight of 10 at home.

"It's tough. Nobody comes here every day wanting to lose or thinking we're going to lose," said Clay Buchholz, Wednesday's pitcher of record. "It's just been happening that way. To have a team that everybody knows can be really, really good with the players that run out there every day, it makes it a little bit tougher knowing that also."
