A return home seemed to cure the Los Angeles Angels' offense of its recent sluggishness.

Likewise, Jered Weaver has struggled lately, but he hopes Angel Stadium remains a personal haven against the Texas Rangers.

Weaver looks to stay unbeaten at home versus Texas on Saturday night.

The Angels (39-33) had dropped five of seven, and while they totaled 20 runs in their two victories, they managed just 13 in the defeats, with the final four coming on the road.

Four players recorded two hits each and six scored at least one run in Friday's 7-3 victory over the Rangers, their 12th in 15 home games and just their fourth win in their last 18 matchups with Texas.

"It's a good bounce-back game," said manager Mike Scioscia, whose club lost in 10 innings at Cleveland on Thursday on a walkoff grand slam. "We had a tough game and a long flight, but we came back with a lot of energy."

The win came despite an 0-for-3 night for Mike Trout, who came in batting .407 with 26 RBIs over his previous 23 contests, including a 13-game hitting streak.

However, he's just 2 for 20 in his last seven matchups with the Rangers with 11 strikeouts.

Weaver (7-6, 3.67 ERA) is 9-0 with a 2.28 ERA in 14 career home starts versus Texas, including a 6-0 mark with a 1.48 ERA in the last seven. He recorded his 100th career victory the last time he faced them at Angel Stadium, allowing three runs over seven innings in an 11-3 win on Sept. 18, 2012.

Weaver's nine wins are the most by any active pitcher against one club at home without any losses.

However, the right-hander also hadn't lost in nine career starts at Cleveland before giving up four runs over six innings in Monday's 4-3 defeat. Three of those runs came on two homers as he fell to 1-3 with a 5.79 in his last four starts. He's failed to complete more than six innings in five games since going the distance against Houston on May 21.

The 1.3 homers allowed per nine innings is the highest rate of Weaver's career, surpassing his 1.1 mark from 2009.

"It's no secret I just can't stay away from the home run ball," he said. "It's been killing me lately and it was the difference in the game again tonight."

The Rangers (35-38) have lost four of five and starting pitchers have completed 6 1-3 innings or fewer in 14 of the club's last 16 games. Joe Saunders gave up seven runs - four earned - in just 4 2-3 innings Friday.

Shin-Soo Choo is 3 for 9 over his last two games but is still batting just .141 over his last 22 contests. He had been hitting .306 on the season prior to that stretch.

"As long as he can go out there, I'm going to put him out there," manager Ron Washington told the team's official website. "I'm figuring he's going to find it again."

Washington will give the ball to Nick Martinez (1-4, 4.44), who posted an 11.08 ERA in a three-start span after giving up eight runs in two innings against Cleveland on June 9.

Martinez turned in a better performance Sunday at Seattle, yielding two runs over six innings, but still suffered his third straight loss in a 5-1 defeat.

"I felt good out there and felt like I got back on track, commanding all my pitches today," he said.

The rookie threw 2 2-3 scoreless innings of relief in Texas' 14-3 win over the Angels on May 4.
