The last-place Colorado Rockies may have an extremely depleted lineup right now, but Tyler Colvin has stepped up during one of the club's better stretches of the season.

Colvin looks to lead the Rockies to their sixth straight road win over the New York Mets on Tuesday night.

Colorado opened this series with Eric Young Jr. (rib cage injury) and Josh Rutledge (left quadriceps) nursing injuries, while on Sunday, Michael Cuddyer (right oblique) joined Todd Helton, Jason Giambi and Troy Tulowitzki on the disabled list.

The Rockies are also without Carlos Gonzalez, who is expected to return from the bereavement list on Wednesday.

While Colorado (47-73) may lack depth, it has still managed to win nine of 14, including a 3-1 victory Monday.

Colvin hit a game-tying home run in the fifth and made a diving catch in the eighth to preserve the lead after Jonathan Herrera scored the go-ahead run in the top of the inning on a passed ball.

Monday's performance continued an impressive run by Colvin, who is hitting .417 (15 for 36) with three doubles, one home run and nine RBIs in the last 10 games.

However, it was his diving grab with the bases loaded that Colvin was most pleased with.

``I'd go with the game-saving play,' he said.

Colvin's homer came off New York starter R.A. Dickey, who was denied his 16th win.

"It's more frustrating from a team standpoint," Dickey told the Mets' official website. "We really want to try to turn the corner here, and we're having some difficulty doing that."

The loss was the second straight and 10th in 14 games for the Mets (57-65), who have averaged 2.7 runs and hit .219 during that span. They are 6 for their last 46 (.130) with runners in scoring position.

New York will try to produce more offense against Jhoulys Chacin (0-3, 7.30 ERA), who is scheduled to come off the disabled list after being sidelined with right shoulder inflammation

This will be the right-hander's first appearance since May 1, when he allowed seven runs and a career high-tying 11 hits over 4 2-3 innings of a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chacin's return could allow Colorado to go back to a five-man rotation, but the Rockies have also indicated that they could use him to help give Drew Pomeranz some additional rest to limit his innings.

Chacin didn't receive a decision in his only start against the Mets, yielding one run and two hits with six walks at Coors Field on May 9.

New York counters with Chris Young (3-6, 4.50), who worked around four walks and eight hits to throw 5 2-3 scoreless innings at Cincinnati last Tuesday. He left without a decision in the Mets' eventual 3-0 loss.

The right-hander has won just one of his last eight starts overall and is 0-3 with a 4.88 in five outings at Citi Field this season.

Young is 5-3 with a 4.02 ERA in 13 starts against the Rockies, losing the last two, but hasn't faced them since 2009 with San Diego.
