Alex Rodriguez has the most RBIs in the history of interleague play, while Derek Jeter has the most hits and runs.

With that in mind, it's not surprising why the New York Yankees continue to maintain baseball's best-ever interleague record - as the Atlanta Braves are finding out first-hand.

The Yankees can record a season-high sixth straight win Wednesday night as they try to complete a three-game sweep of the Braves at Turner Field.

New York (36-25) is 163-109 all-time in interleague play, including a 6-2 mark this year. Rodriguez and Jeter once again showed why they have been so proficient against the NL on Tuesday.

Rodriguez hit his 23rd career grand slam to match Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig's all-time record in a six-run eighth inning as the Yankees rallied for a 6-4 victory. He's now got 194 interleague RBIs.

"It means a lot,' Rodriguez said of catching the 'Iron Horse.' "It's very special. This game is very, very difficult. If you're not going to enjoy these great moments, then it's not any fun. Lou Gehrig is not only one of the all-time greats, but he's one of ours.'

Jeter is up to 334 career interleague hits and 189 runs after going 2 for 5 with two runs scored Tuesday. He's batting .404 in 10 career regular-season games at Turner Field, where he went 4 for 9 to earn 1999 World Series MVP honors.

Nick Swisher capped New York's rally from four runs down in the eighth with a go-ahead, two-run homer after Rodriguez tied the contest. The Yankees are now seeking their first six-game winning streak since Sept. 1-6.

Atlanta (34-28) has dropped three straight following a season-high six-game win streak of its own. The Braves wasted 7 1-3 solid innings from Mike Minor, who left with a 4-0 lead Tuesday despite entering the night tied for baseball's worst ERA at 6.57.

"It's a shame he didn't get the W," manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

The Braves will try to bounce back behind Tim Hudson (4-2, 3.83 ERA), who has not pitched since his five-hitter June 5 in an 11-0 rout at Miami.

The right-hander was bothered by bone spurs in his ankle during that effort, pushing back his next start. He had no major issues in a bullpen session Monday.

"It felt all right," Hudson told the Braves' official website. "It felt good enough. I didn't expect it to be all of a sudden 100 percent. I think Wednesday should be good."

Hudson is 1-3 with a 3.78 ERA in 10 career regular-season starts against the Yankees, a team he has not faced since 2006. Rodriguez is 14 for 39 with three homers off him.

Hudson is 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA in his last four interleague home starts after going 0-5 with a 7.84 ERA in his first six at Turner Field.

New York's Hiroki Kuroda (5-6, 3.46) looks to continue his stellar pitching. He yielded one hit over seven scoreless innings in last Friday's 9-1 win over the Mets to improve to 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in his last three outings.

The right-hander, who has a 3.70 run-support average this season, has not been supported much in his career against Atlanta. He went 1-4 with a 2.10 ERA in five starts against the Braves while with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with his offense totaling four runs for him.
