CHICAGO (AP) - Tim Lincecum will wait at least another day for a shot at extending his 17-inning scoreless streak.

The San Francisco right-hander's ninth start of the season was scrubbed Sunday as continued inclement weather forced postponement of the finale of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.

He'll instead pitch Monday night at Colorado as the Giants continue a seven-game road swing.

``It doesn't really bother me,' Lincecum said as teammates prepared for an afternoon flight out of Chicago. ``Obviously it's miserable for everyone else and I don't want anybody to get injured. You take that into consideration. Days like yesterday (a 3-0 win in a rain-shortened game) are days when people get hurt.'

Sunday's postponement will be made up June 28 at Wrigley Field as part of a doubleheader.

Lincecum's scoreless streak dates back to April 29 at Washington and includes 6 1-3 no-hit innings in a no-decision outing at Arizona last Tuesday. He came into Sunday tied with Roy Halladay for the league lead with 66 strikeouts.

He's held opponents to a .197 average in eight starts, the league's third lowest.

That kind of pitching has helped carry the defending World Series champs far as manager Bruce Bochy waits for the Giants' hitting to revive.

``Without question,' Bochy said. ``Our starters, our bullpen, they've given us a chance and that's what has to happen when your offense hasn't clicked.

``Again, we're not the only club, but until it does you're going to have to throw the ball well to win ballgames if you're having a tough time scoring runs.'

The NL West leaders are hitting a collective .236, fourth worst in the league.

Cubs manager Mike Quade had shuffled his lineup a bit in preparation for Lincecum, giving Marlon Byrd and Alfonso Soriano each a day off while moving Blake DeWitt into the No. 5 spot and Reed Johnson sixth.

``There aren't many guys in the league who have good numbers against Lincecum, and (DeWitt) is one of them,' Quade explained. ``It would normally be a spot for (Tyler) Colvin, but trying to beat Lincecum is pretty important.

``We needed to find some way to get Blake's bat in the lineup and I didn't think resting (Darwin) Barney is a good idea.'

The Cubs claimed an 11-4 victory in Friday's series opener, but the Giants came back to win on Saturday in a game called in the seventh in 43-degree temperatures and a steady rain.

``You don't like rainouts, but that was a tough night last night,' Bochy said. ``Those were tough conditions that those guys had to play under. I didn't want that to happen again if it was going to be that bad today.'

NOTES: Giants LHP Jonathan Sanchez was originally slated for Monday's start and now moves to Tuesday against the Rockies. ... For the Cubs, Matt Garza will pitch Tuesday in Cincinnati. ... Sunday's postponement was announced at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) even before Wrigley Field's gates open. Conditions did not improve as the originally scheduled 1:20 p.m. game time approached with steady rain, brisk winds and temperatures in the lower 40s ... Following three game at Colorado, the Giants travel to Los Angeles for a two-game series with the Dodgers. They're home on Friday to open a three-game interleague series with Oakland.
