ATLANTA (AP) - Tommy Hanson's five-game winning streak ended with his worst start of the season.

Even so, he believes with a few good bounces he might have had another win.

Hanson gave up season-high totals of five runs and eight hits as the Atlanta Braves lost 5-2 to John Lannan and the Washington Nationals on Saturday night.

``I don't want to get too down on myself and think too in-depth on this game,' Hanson said. ``I feel like the ball bounces my way a couple times, the game is totally different. But that's not what happened. So I have to keep working hard. Keep doing what I'm doing.'

One of those bounces came off the bat of Lannan, who drove in two runs with his first hit of the season, a bases-loaded bouncer up the middle in the second inning.

``I just feel like I got myself in some situations and I couldn't get out of it,' Hanson said.

Hanson (10-5) suffered his first loss since May 27. He pitched 5 1-3 innings and fell to 0-2 in three starts against the Nationals this season. Hanson had two walks and eight strikeouts.

``He battled and kept us in the game,' Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

Alex Gonzalez hit a two-run homer for Atlanta.

Wilson Ramos had a two-run homer and run-scoring double for Washington.

Lannan gave up two runs in 5 2-3 innings and was 0 for 32 this season before the two-run single.

``Unbelievable,' said Washington manager Davey Johnson. ``I couldn't believe that was his first hit. I thought about calling timeout and getting the ball.'

Lannan (6-6) gave up five hits and four walks but was helped by double plays in the fourth and fifth innings.

``He pitched great tonight,' said Atlanta's Dan Uggla, who had one hit to extend his hitting streak to eight games. ``He was getting ahead, mixing it up and throwing strikes. He made the pitches when he needed to.'

Drew Storen pitched the ninth for his 24th save.

Lannan added a single in the sixth after Wilson Ramos hit a two-run homer. Ramos had a run-scoring double in the second.

Lannan, a career .083 hitter, ended his season-long drought when his grounder bounced past Hanson and over second base, driving in Rick Ankiel, who walked, and Ramos.

``Definitely a monkey off the back,' Lannan said.

Lannan didn't miss a start after being hit by Ty Wigginton's line drive. Johnson called the left-hander ``a tough kid from New Jersey' before the game. He actually is from Manhasset, N.Y.

A man dressed in a white wedding dress was quickly tackled by security officers after he ran into the outfield in the bottom of the eighth inning. Players in both dugouts chuckled and fans cheered and flashed their cameras as the man stopped a few yards away from right fielder Jayson Werth.

``I thought it only happened in New York,' said a smiling Johnson.

Security officers started to escort the man off the field through the Braves' bullpen, but bullpen coach Eddie Perez apparently directed the group toward a tunnel behind the right-field foul pole.

There was a brief delay in the ninth when home-plate umpire Kerwin Danley was hit by Ankiel's foul tip. Danley, who appeared to be hit immediately below his facemask, was knocked on his back. He remained in the game.

NOTES: Lannan is 7-4 in 13 career starts against Atlanta, including 5-2 at Turner Field. ... RHP Chien-Ming Wang is scheduled to start for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. He will make his fifth rehab start as he returns from 2009 shoulder surgery. ... Gonzalez rested LF Nate McLouth to start Wilkin Ramirez against Lannan. ... There was a postgame concert by the B-52s.
