MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brewers reliever Kameron Loe should have listened to the coaching staff. Instead, he talked them into letting him pitch for the third time in three games. He regrets that decision now.

Cameron Maybin drove in the go-ahead runs off Loe and Ryan Ludwick homered in an eight-run eighth inning after the Milwaukee Brewers had rallied from a 5-0 hole in the San Diego Padres' 13-6 victory on Wednesday.

``If they ask me, I say yes. It's always been part of me,' Loe said. ``They kind of told me today, 'You'll probably be down,' but I fought them. I'm upset with myself for not just going with what they said and fighting them.'

Roenicke had said Loe wouldn't be available, but he listened to his lanky right-hander who has appeared in 20 of Milwaukee's 36 games so far this year.

``We were going to try and stay away from him today, he called down and said he was OK to go and felt good,' Roenicke said. ``He talked me into letting him come in the game.'

The Brewers shouldn't have been in the situation at all, but Brewers starter Randy Wolf allowed 12 hits and five runs in 3 1-3 innings to put Milwaukee in a 5-0 hole before a big rally.

``To give up 12 hits in three innings is awful. It's hard to really put my finger on exactly what it was, but what it was was awful,' Wolf said. ``It was an all-around awful day.'

Still, Milwaukee score six consecutive runs, including Prince Fielder's 200th career homer and Yuniesky Betancourt's solo shot to go ahead 6-5 until the eighth.

In the inning, Mitch Stetter allowed a single to Brad Hawpe before departing for Loe, who allowed consecutive singles to Chris Denorfia and Jason Bartlett that tied it at 6. After a sacrifice bunt, Chase Headley was intentionally walked and Maybin delivered with his double down the left-field line.

Ryan Braun's throw from the outfield hit Headley coming into third base, and Headley easily scored on the error to make it 9-6.

Ludwick snapped an 0-for-21 skid earlier in the game before homering to right field off Mike McClendon to make it 11-6. The Padres tacked on two more runs on singles by Hawpe and Bartlett as San Diego sent 13 batters to the plate.

``When they tied it up, it was like, 'Oh man, now they've got the momentum,'' Bartlett said. ``It was huge to score that many. They have a good offense over there and one, two, it wouldn't have been comfortable.'

Chad Qualls (2-2) pitched 1 1-3 innings of relief, including getting out of a bases-loaded jam by forcing Ryan Braun to pop out in the sixth with Milwaukee ahead 6-5 to earn the win.

Braun left the game afterward with a left ankle bruise he sustained when he hit the wall on defense trying to run down a double. Roenicke wasn't overly concerned about the injury with a day off on Thursday before Milwaukee opens a three-game series with the Pirates.

``He saw the at-bat that we needed from him and tried to get through that,' Roenicke said. ``If he had to go back out there, he would have, but he wasn't right.'

NOTES: Wolf's ERA rose from 3.38 to 4.11. In two starts in May, he's 0-2 with a 12.22 ERA. ... Fielder's two-run shot was his eighth this season. He's the youngest player to ever hit 50 homers, but is 15th youngest to 200, according to Elias. ... Tests on the arm of Brewers RHP Brandon Kintzler (right triceps irritation) showed no structural issues. The Brewers have an off day on Thursday, but will have to make a roster move if he's not ready to return by Friday. ... Brewers LHP Zach Braddock (sleep disorder) will begin a rehab assignment at Class-A Wisconsin on Thursday.
