GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -Wade LeBlanc retired 14 of the first 15 batters he faced Saturday night and the San Diego Padres cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in a matchup of split squads.

Playing with as many as five of their opening day starters in the lineup, the Dodgers managed just two hits against three Padres pitchers.

LeBlanc, making his fourth appearance and second start of the spring, retired the first 10 batters before walking Reed Johnson in the fourth.

LeBlanc made a case to be included in the back end of the Padres' rotation.

``Wade did a good job of moving the fastball in and out and showed a very good changeup,' Padres manager Bud Black said. ``He's in the mix. He's a guy we think a lot of.'

Ronnie Belliard homered in the fifth inning.

Matt Antonelli hit a three-run home run in a four-run second inning for the Padres. Antonelli connected off Dodgers starter Vicente Padilla, who gave up four runs on seven hits in five innings.

``He had one bad inning,' Dodgers manager Joe Torre said of the Padres' four-run second. ``He threw fastballs and they hit fastballs. He had a good sinker but when he got the ball up he got waxed.'

The Dodgers have struggled with offensive consistency, as many players have been back from a series in Taiwan for less than a week. The Dodgers also played a night game Friday followed by their split-squad, day-night schedule Saturday.

``This little run we're having now, we'll get through it, have the off day (Tuesday) and then sort of be normal for 10 days where we can just play normal baseball,' Torre said.

Padres relievers Cory Luebke and Radhames Liz didn't help the Dodgers' fortunes. Luebke pitched three hitless innings with three walks, while Liz gave up a double in a scoreless ninth.

NOTES: For the fourth time in three days a Cactus League single-game attendance mark was set with a Camelback Ranch crowd of 13,506. ... James McDonald, who pitched in 45 games with the Dodgers last season and was a candidate to start this year, was optioned to the minor leagues. ... Dodgers veteran catcher Brad Ausmus had an epidural injection to treat lower back pain and is out of action at least until Wednesday. ... Padres right-hander Jon Garland, scheduled to pitch Sunday, will have his next outing delayed a few days with shoulder irritation.
