DENVER (AP) - Brad Hawpe played seven memorable seasons for Colorado.

He did his best to make the Rockies forget all about them on Saturday.

Hawpe hit a two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning to complete a six-run comeback, giving the San Diego Padres a stunning 9-7 victory.

``It was fun,' Hawpe said. ``I've been thinking about that for several months now. It was a special moment for me.'

Hawpe connected off Huston Street (0-1) for his second home run of the season. The former All-Star outfielder began his major league career with the Rockies in 2004, was cut last August and finished the season with Tampa Bay.

``It was on the corner, but it was up,' Street said. ``I was trying to bury it in the dirt. I thought I had him set up for it. It's frustrating.'

The Padres, meanwhile, got 4 2-3 hitless innings from their bullpen, including Mike Adams (2-0), who pitched the eighth. Heath Bell earned his ninth save in 10 opportunities and career save No. 100.

``Our guys have shown a knack for putting together good at_bats from the seventh inning on,' Padres manager Bud Black said.

Street nearly wiggled out of trouble after giving up a leadoff double to Will Venable in the ninth. Venable was sacrificed to third, but was thrown out at the plate trying to score on Jorge Cantu's bouncer - third baseman Ty Wigginton crossed the baseline to backhand the ball and made a perfect throw around Venable to catcher Chris Iannetta, who blocked the plate.

Hawpe followed with his third hit of the game, and the fifth homer off Street in his 20 2-3 innings this season.

``The last couple of days, we're showing major signs of gaining a lot of offensive traction,' Rockies manager Jim Tracy said. ``Just when you think you've got that part of it going, you have a breakdown at the back end of the game. We did everything we needed to do leading into the seventh inning and then we didn't do what we needed to do.'

The Padres made it 7-all in the eighth against Rafael Betancourt. He gave up consecutive singles to start the inning, followed by Ryan Ludwick's sacrifice fly, a balk and Eric Patterson's two-out single.

San Diego rallied in the seventh against Jhoulys Chacin, who had allowed only four hits through six innings and retired 12 straight batters at one point.

Chacin ran into trouble of his own making in the seventh when he loaded the bases on two walks and a single. Chacin then made a double-error on a slow bounder hit by Patterson, bobbling the ball and throwing it wide of first base, allowing two runs to score.

Reliever Matt Lindstrom gave up a run-scoring infield single to Chris Denorfia and Jason Bartlett's tying sacrifice fly.

Todd Helton and Carlos Gonzalez homered as the Rockies built their early lead.

NOTES: Helton's homer was the 338th of his career and tied him with Don Baylor for 89th all-time. Tino Martinez, Dave Parker and Boog Powell (339)are tied for 86th and Jack Clark (340) is 85th. ... Padres 3B Chase Headley left the game in the bottom of the fourth with a slight sprain of his right ankle. He appeared to hurt the ankle trying to field Wigginton's grounder in the second. ... Rockies CF Dexter Fowler was back in the lineup after being limited to pinch-hit duties the past two games because he fouled a ball off his left knee Tuesday. ... Padres C Nick Hundley (right oblique strain) caught a bullpen session for the first time since he went on the 15-day disabled list May 6.
