DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) -Roy Halladay looks ready to start the season.

The ace right-hander struck out four in three shutout innings and Wayne Lydon's single snapped an eighth-inning tie to lift the Toronto Blue Jays over the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Friday night.

``I'm starting to add things a little bit,' Halladay said. ``My curveball hasn't been great in the last couple of bullpens so I wanted to throw that more, and it was better. I think location's the big thing right now, just trying to get everything where you want it.'

The Blue Jays know what to expect from Halladay, the 2003 AL Cy Young Award winner. He was 20-11 with a 2.78 ERA in a major league-high 246 innings last season.

``Doc's always prepared,' manager Cito Gaston said. ``It's always a pleasure to be able to manage a guy like that. I wouldn't even call it managing. I just have him on the team. Before the game started he was warming up down in the bullpen and there were 10, 15 guys watching him. That's a pleasure for me.'

Chan Ho Park matched Halladay pitch for pitch before Adam Lind followed Aaron Hill's double with an RBI single in the fourth.

``My changeup worked pretty good today, especially against left-handers,' Park said, adding that teammate Jamie Moyer taught him the pitch earlier in the week.

Park, vying for the final spot in Philadelphia's rotation, yielded a run and three hits in four solid innings. He struck out four and walked none.

Geoff Jenkins gave the Phillies the lead with a two-run double in the fourth. He also hit a sacrifice fly that tied it at 3 in the sixth.

The Blue Jays got to non-roster right-hander Yorman Bazardo for two runs in the fifth on Jason Lane's homer, his third of the spring, and a sacrifice fly by John McDonald.

Toronto's Justin Jackson drew a leadoff walk from Sergio Escalona in the eighth and Scott Campbell's grounder moved him to second before Lydon singled through the hole at shortstop.

Blue Jays first baseman Lyle Overbay, in his first game since undergoing triple hernia surgery on New Years Eve, struck out twice and grounded into a double play.

``My timing's good,' Overbay said, ``but I didn't let loose.'

Overbay also made a diving, smothering stop on Eric Bruntlett's third-inning grounder, threw to Halladay covering first and said later that he felt no discomfort.

Notes: Toronto's Scott Rolen hit a pair of two-run homers and Kevin Millar had a three-run shot in a 12-7 ``B' game victory over the Phillies. ... Halladay watched some World Baseball Classic play before the game. ``For me, I'm having more fun watching (than participating). It was just too much for me to work on right now to have to pitch in competitive games,' he said. ``I feel I'd put myself behind the 8 ball.'
