TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -The New York Yankees got a major scare in opening-day starter CC Sabathia's final spring outing.

The left-hander had Jason Ellison's line-drive RBI single go off his glove in the second inning of New York's 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.

``Not what to you want to see,' New York manager Joe Girardi said. ``I was a little nervous. Got mostly glove.'

Sabathia remained in the game, and allowed two runs and six hits over 3 2-3 innings. He struck out five and walked one during a 70-pitch outing.

``No problem,' Sabathia said. ``I'm ready just to get the season started. I'll be ready.'

Phillies minor leaguer Kyle Drabek, the son of former major league pitcher Doug Drabek, gave up five runs - four earned - and five hits in 2 1-3 innings.

Selected by the Phillies in the first round of the 2006 draft, Drabek made a combined eight starts last season in rookie league and short-season Class A following elbow ligament replacement surgery.

Mark Teixeira had an RBI single and a two-run homer for New York. Hideki Matsui, who had a limited workout Tuesday due to neck stiffness, went 2-for-3, including a two-run homer.

Teixeira, with three hits in three at_bats, raised his batting average to .444. He has three homers and 11 RBIs.

``I wish opening day was tomorrow,' he said.

Jayson Werth hit his sixth homer of the spring - a solo shot off Sabathia - in the third. Phillies closer Brad Lidge walked Matsui during a scoreless sixth.

New York is scheduled to workout for the first time at the new Yankee Stadium on Thursday before playing exhibition games Friday and Saturday against the Chicago Cubs.

``I think everyone is extremely excited to see it,' Girardi said. ``I'm extremely excited.'

Notes: New York RF Xavier Nady was scratched due to minor swelling in his left elbow. ``I'm fine,' Nady said. ``Obviously I would have played during the season. I'll play Friday.' Nady was hit by a pitch on Tuesday. ... Phillies LHP J.A. Happ, bidding for a bullpen spot, gave up three runs and four hits over 2 2-3 innings. ... Yankees RHP Chien-Ming Wang said he's excited about starting the first exhibition game Friday at the new Yankee Stadium. ... Philadelphia closes out the Florida part of spring training with a home game Thursday against Washington. The Phillies then return to Philadelphia for exhibition games Friday and Saturday against Tampa Bay.
