TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -Arizona ace Brandon Webb had another shaky outing in a 13-6 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.

Webb allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings, walking two and striking out five. His spring training ERA rose to 8.18 after the 80-pitch outing.

Kansas City starter Gil Meche also struggled, giving up three runs and eight hits in 3 2-3 innings. He struck out three, walked two and committed a balk in an 82-pitch start.

Royals relievers Tim Hamulack, Jamey Wright, Roman Colon and Yasuhiko Yabuta did not allow an earned run the rest of the way.

Mitch Maier, Mark Teahen and Tommy Murphy each had three of Kansas City's 22 hits. Billy Butler homered and drove in five runs for the Royals.

Arizona outfielder Eric Byrnes went 3-for-3 with an RBI in his second game since returning from a hamstring injury. Byrnes was thrown out trying to steal second by Kansas City catcher Brayan Pena - one of two basestealers nailed by Pena.

Felipe Lopez and Josh Wilson each drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks.

Webb wasn't the only Diamondbacks pitcher who had a bad day.

Reliever Travis Blackley gave up four runs and eight hits - four for extra bases - in three innings. Evan MacLane pitched the ninth and gave up four runs, including a homer to Butler.

Dan Haren and Max Scherzer will pitch for Arizona against the San Diego Padres in Peoria on Sunday.

The Royals face the Los Angeles Angels in Surprise on Sunday. Left-hander Horacio Ramirez will start, and right-hander Robinson Tejeda and lefty Lenny DiNardo are also scheduled to pitch.
