PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) -Paul Konerko had three hits, including a home run as the Chicago White Sox routed the San Diego Padres 15-4 on Friday.
The White Sox first baseman, who has 298 career home runs, went 3-for-4 and finished with three RBIs.
Konerko's first RBI came on a second-inning solo homer off Padres starter Chris Young. It was the third home run of the spring for Konerko, who slumped to a .240 average with 22 homers and 62 RBIs in 2008.
Chicago's output also included home runs by DeWayne Wise and Brian Anderson and was more than enough support for starter Gavin Floyd.
Floyd, who was a 17-8 with a 3.84 ERA in 2008, struck out four and allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk over four innings.
Young, who was limited to 18 starts for the Padres in 2008, allowed two runs in three innings. The 6-foot-11 right-hander yielded four hits and walked two.
Chicago third baseman Josh Fields went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI catcher A.J. Pierzynski had two hits and an RBI.
Cliff Floyd, who signed a one-year deal with the Padres in February, blasted his first home run this spring.
