TORONTO (AP) - Former pitcher Jack Morris is returning to the Toronto Blue Jays as a television analyst.
Sportsnet announced Tuesday that Morris will provide analysis on its radio broadcasts and website, as well as make appearances on game telecasts and the show ``Blue Jays Central.''
Morris was a member of Blue Jays teams that won consecutive World Series titles in 1992 and `93. The right-hander had an AL-best 21 wins in 1992, becoming the club's first 20-game winner.
The 57-year-old Morris retired after the 1994 season. He has spent time as a color analyst for the Minnesota Twins and a guest on Detroit Tigers broadcasts, two other teams he played for during his 18-year career.
``I'm thrilled to be joining the Sportsnet team and to be returning to Canada,'' Morris said in a statement. ``I've had a lot of great experiences here and am looking forward to this next chapter.
``This has been one of the most exciting offseasons that Blue Jays fans have ever seen, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to be covering this amazing team for the next three years.''
Morris will make his final appearance on the Hall of Fame ballot next year. He received 67.7 percent of the vote this year, falling short of the 75 percent needed for election by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
