SEATTLE (AP) - The Texas Rangers officially recalled right-hander Justin Grimm from Triple-A Round Rock to start against the Seattle Mariners.
The Rangers made the move Thursday with Grimm getting the start against Seattle in the series opener. Grimm takes the spot of Matt Harrison, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an inflamed nerve in his lower back. The Harrison move was retroactive to last Sunday.
Grimm will be making the third start of his career after making two last season with the Rangers. He made his season debut with Round Rock last Friday, going 5 2-3 innings and allowing just one earned run against Omaha.
The Rangers also recalled right-hander Justin Miller from Double-A Frisco and placed him on the 60-day disabled list as he rehabs from Tommy John surgery.
