TORONTO (AP) - Adam Lind had three hits and three RBIs, J.A. Happ pitched a season-high 7 2-3 innings and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 7-0 Thursday night.
Jose Reyes had four hits and scored twice as the AL East-leading Blue Jays handed the struggling White Sox their seventh loss in eight games. Chicago lost for the 10th time in 11 road games.
Lind hit an RBI double in the first, singled in the third and hit a two-run single in the fourth. He struck out in the seventh and, batting with runners at second and third in the eighth, flied out to the warning track in left.
Happ (7-4) allowed four hits to win for the third time in five starts. The left-hander walked two and struck out a season-high eight.
Dustin McGowan got the final out of the eighth and Chad Jenkins finished as the Blue Jays recorded their 10th shutout. The White Sox were blanked for the sixth time.
Chicago lost center fielder Adam Eaton in the first inning with cramps in his left leg. Eaton was replaced by Leury Garcia.
Starting for the first time since May 19, White Sox right-hander Scott Carroll (2-4) allowed five runs and nine hits in five innings. Carroll, who walked two and struck out four, returned to the rotation in place of Andre Rienzo, who was moved to the bullpen.
Toronto jumped on Carroll for two runs in the first. Reyes and Melky Cabrera both reached on infield singles before Lind doubled to right. Cabrera scored on a throwing error by outfielder Moises Sierra.
The Blue Jays made it 3-0 in the second when Juan Francisco drew a leadoff walk and scored on a two-out triple by Reyes.
Lind was involved again as the Blue Jays made it 5-0 in the fourth. Base hits by Anthony Gose and Reyes and a walk to Cabrera loaded the bases before Lind grounded a two-run single to center.
Blue Jays catcher Dioner Navarro reached on a double to begin the fifth after White Sox left fielder Dayan Viciedo dropped his fly ball. Garcia picked up the ball but his errant throw to second base rolled into foul territory behind first as Navarro moved to third and was waved home by coach Luis Rivera. First baseman Jose Abreu picked up the ball and threw Navarro out at home plate.
Toronto made it 6-0 in the seventh on Edwin Encarnacion's RBI double off Rienzo, who was pitching in relief for the first time since April 20. Cabrera added an RBI grounder off Rienzo in the eighth.
The White Sox hit leadoff doubles in the fourth and eighth, and put the leadoff man at second on an error in the fifth, but couldn't capitalize.
