Updated Award Odds
Each Major League Baseball team has played over a quarter of its schedule so far as several players expected to do well have, while others have come out of nowhere to make a run at postseason awards.

Angels’ outfielder and two-time Most Valuable Player Mike Trout opened the season as the American League favorite at 5/2 odds (Bet $100 to win $250) at the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. Trout remains the favorite to capture the award for the second straight season at 1/3 odds (Bet $300 to win $100) as he owns a .350 batting average, which is tied for first in the AL, while knocking out 14 home runs.

Only one player has more home runs in the game than Trout and it’s Yankees’ rookie sensation Aaron Judge. The power-hitting right fielder has gone deep 15 times this season, while helping New York to the third-most runs in the league entering Monday’s action. Judge began the campaign with high expectations at 20/1 to win the MVP, but his performance the first six weeks has boosted him to 7/1 odds.

In the National League, reigning MVP Kris Bryant was listed at 5/2 odds to win this award for the consecutive year. The Cubs’ third baseman has fallen behind Washington slugger Bryce Harper for second among NL MVP favorites as Bryant is currently at 3/1 odds, while Harper is a 1/2 favorite. Harper captured the award in 2015, but has started this season tied for second in home runs (13) and fourth in runs batted in (37).

On the mound, it’s no surprise that Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw is the odds-on favorite to win his fourth Cy Young award. Kershaw’s 2016 campaign was cut short due to injury, but the southpaw is back on track with a stellar 7-2 record to go along with a 2.15 ERA, which ranks second in the NL behind Cardinals’ right-hander Mike Leake. Kershaw is currently listed at heavy 4/11 odds (Bet $275 to win $100), while Nationals’ standout Max Scherzer is second in the NL at 3/1 odds.

In the American League, Chris Sale switched Sox from Chicago to Boston in the offseason, but that didn’t affect the southpaw’s dominance. Sale has racked up an AL-high 95 strikeouts through nine starts, while leading the American League in innings pitched and WHIP. The left-hander has never won a Cy Young award in his career, but is the favorite at 1/2 odds and has turned into the ace of the Red Sox staff.
