Rangers' Bradley out with a sore shoulder

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Designated hitter Milton Bradley was out of the Texas Rangers' starting lineup against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night because of a sore right shoulder.

Bradley was removed in the seventh inning of Monday night's game against the Mariners. Manager Ron Washington said Bradley would also sit out Wednesday's game against Seattle.

``It's been bothering him for a long time. It affected him when he swung from the right side,'' Washington said.

The Rangers are off on Thursday, so Bradley probably won't play again until their interleague series against Houston begins Friday night.

``I'm not going to push him out there for a day game,'' Washington said, but added that Bradley wouldn't be out for an extended period. ``He ain't going on (the disabled list).''

Bradley began the season on the active roster after recovering from off-season knee surgery. Washington has rested Bradley on occasion to protect his right knee.

Meanwhile, Rangers outfielder Marlon Byrd (left knee) has started an injury-rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma. Two others on the disabled list - right-hander Luis Mendoza (finger blister) and third baseman Hank Blalock (torn left hamstring) - are scheduled to begin rehab assignments with Double-A Frisco this week.
