EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -All the New Jersey Nets needed to beat the Philadelphia 76ers was one of the longest buzzer-beating 3-pointers in NBA history - a halfcourt heave that took a couple of minutes before it went in the books.

Devin Harris hit a lunging 47-footer at the horn and then anxiously waited for more than 2 1/2 minutes before the officials overturned their original call and gave the Nets a thrilling 98-96 victory over the slumping Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.

``I was trying to draw the foul, but they don't give it to you in that situation,' Harris said after capping a superb 39-point night. ``I figured I just had to heave it down there and give it a chance. It was an impossible angle with a guy hanging on me. It was a wild shot and I don't know how it went in.'

Not only did it go in, it swished, setting off a wild celebration among the Nets.

The only problem was the officiating crew of Derrick Stafford, Violet Palmer and Pat Fraher ruled the basket came after the buzzer.

League rules, however, mandate a review at the end of quarters and the officials studied the videotape intently as players from both teams stood at halfcourt looking over their shoulders and waited for a ruling.

When Stafford eventually gave a touchdown signal and ruled the basket good, Harris got what he wanted: an end to the Nets' season-high five-game losing streak.

The Nets' losing streak seemed destined to hit six games when Andre Iguodala made the second of two free throws to give Philadelphia a one-point lead with 1.8 seconds to play.

Bobby Simmons grabbed the ball after Iguodala's free throw and fired a pass to Harris at halfcourt. Iguodala and Harris bumped and Harris momentarily bobbled the ball. He regained control in front of the scorer's table and fired it at the basket.

``After the review, everyone was jumping up and down, going crazy,' Harris said. ``We'll take it any way we can.'

Willie Green and Thaddeus Young had 14 points apiece and Samuel Dalembert had 13 points and 10 rebounds as the 76ers lost to the Nets for the third time in as many games.

At Denver, Ray Allen scored 26 points and Paul Pierce added 22 as the Celtics handed the Nuggets one of the worst home losses in their history.

It was Boston's second game since Kevin Garnett strained a muscle in his right knee that is expected to sidelined him for at least two weeks.

Rajon Rondo added 14 points for the Celtics, who raced to a 60-37 halftime lead en route to sending Denver to its worst home loss since Feb. 2, 1998, when the Nuggets were routed by Chicago 111-72.

J.R. Smith had 19 points and Carmelo Anthony 18 for the Nuggets.

At Salt Lake City, Deron Williams had 15 points and 10 assists and Utah welcomed back Carlos Boozer from a three-month absence.

The Jazz won their fifth straight and got to use Boozer sparingly in his first game since Nov. 19, when he injured a tendon in his left quadriceps. The two-time All-Star also had knee surgery to remove cartilage in January and was finally back Monday after missing 44 straight games. He finished with two points and five rebounds as the rest of the Jazz handled the scoring.

Joe Johnson had 15 points to lead the Hawks, who lost their 15th straight game at Utah.

At New York, Nate Robinson scored 32 of his season-high 41 points in the second half, including the tiebreaking layup with 26 seconds left for the Knicks.

Al Harrington added 27 points and David Lee had 20 points and 13 rebounds for New York.

Jarrett Jack scored a season-high 33 points and Marquis Daniels matched a season best with 28 for the Pacers, who had won two in a row overall and four in a row at Madison Square Garden.

Troy Murphy added 19 points and 21 rebounds for Indiana.

At Sacramento, Calif., Chris Paul had 27 points and 13 assists and the Hornets held off a fourth-quarter rally led by Kevin Martin.

David West had 24 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets, who had lost two straight and eight of 12. Tyson Chandler, playing his first game since New Orleans tried to trade him to Oklahoma City, had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Martin set an Arco Arena record for points in a quarter with 24 of his 32 coming in the fourth.

At Los Angeles, Zach Randolph had 27 points and 11 rebounds, Eric Gordon also scored 27 points and the Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak.

Gordon had a career-high six 3-pointers and has scored 21 or more points in each of his last five games.

Baron Davis added 25 points and 10 assists for the Clippers, who got off to a slow start and were without starter Al Thornton, missing his second game of the season with a right foot injury.

Stephen Jackson had 28 points and C.J. Watson added 16 for the Warriors.
